Polokwane Municipality Says Water Shortage Due To Load Shedding

The Polokwane municipality in Limpopo says the current water shortage in some areas is due to the ongoing load shedding.

The municipalitys spokesperson, Thipa Selala says water levels are low at Ebenezer scheme, Seshego dam, Olifantsproot water plant and others.

Selala says they have deployed water tankers to most affected areas to provide temporary relief.

We acknowledge the severe impact of power outages on our major water sources leading to critical shortages in several areas. We have deployed water tankers to affected communities, and we urge residents who are receiving supply to use water sparingly while we work with the relevant stakeholders such as Eskom and Lephella northern water to restore normal supply.
