Political parties are in a final push in the campaign trail for a historic by-election on Wednesday for the dissolved Thabazimbi Local Municipality in Limpopo.
The council was dissolved two months ago due to political and administrative instability.
More than 51 000 registered voters will head to the polls in the historic by-election on Wednesday. A total of 405 candidates from various political parties, and five independent candidates will contest the by-elections.
They will be battling for 24 seats in the council, of which twelve are ward councilors and twelve are proportional representation.
The council was dissolved two months ago due to political and administrative instability. There were two parallel councils, each with its mayor and administrative management.
