Police Raid Jp Smith And Xanthea Limberg's Offices In Cape Town
Earlier today, 24 January, the South African Police Service raided the municipal offices of the City of Cape Town. The offices of mayoral committee members Alderman JP Smith and Xanthea Limberg were also on the list of those raided, Cape town Etc reports.
The Police Commercial Crimes Unit raided the officers of Alderman JP Smith and commenting on the matter was police spokesperson Andre Traut.
Traut stated that further probes were being conducted pertaining to housing tender fraud in the construction sector within the Cape Town municipality.
According to SABC News , investigators entered the municipalitys offices earlier this morning in accordance with an investigation into alleged fraud involved in the construction case.
Mayoral Committee Member for Human Settlements Malusi Booi, whose office was raided in 2023, is also facing charges pertaining to fraud and corruption.
