Police officers evacuated a shopping mall on Saturday afternoon in Palm Beach County.
According to the Boca Raton Police Department, the evacuation was "a precaution" after a caller made a threat from the north parking lot of Town Center at Boca Raton.
Cody Conrad , a celebrity gamer known as Clix, shared a video saying police officers wrongly identified him as the threat when one of his followers 'swatted" him referring to a harassment ploy to get emergency services to send a response team.
"We can't get out of the mall because one of you guys swatted the mall and said there is a shooting going on in here next to my [expletive] car," Conrad said during his livestream on Twitch . "All the [expletive] stores are locked down. You literally can't get out of the [expletive] building."
Earlier in the day, Conrad's livestream shows him shopping at the mall and later it shows him walking in the parking lot when a group of fans rushed him screaming. The video shows Conrad stopping to greet them. Then he talked about the 'swatting."
