The charges followed after the SAPS officer deliberately drove over a puppy multiple times, Cape town Etc reports.

The incident occurred on Wednesday, 9 October, as eyewitnesses reported that the officer had ran over the puppy multiple times, with a SAPS vehicle.

The officer allegedly ran over the puppy a total of three times, before fleeing the scene and abandoning the animal, in excruciating pain.

Following the incident, an eyewitness delivered a statement to the SPCA, detailing the series of events.
