A 33-year-old man has been at the Turner Guilford Knight Correctional Center since he confessed on Thursday to have used a large tactical knife to stab a woman several times at an apartment in Miami.
According to detectives, Dayron Cespedes was married to the woman and they had a child together when she kicked him out of the apartment about a month ago and he showed up unannounced on Thursday.
According to a detective's report, Cespedes knocked on the door, "the children opened the door" while the woman was in the dining room wearing AirPods, and the two got into an argument when he started to threaten her.
According to the police arrest report, the woman used her phone to record Cespedes without him knowing, and when she demanded that he stop threatening her, he said he was going to 'show her a threat" and reached into his backpack.
Detectives reported Cespedes then "withdrew a large tactical knife and stabbed the victim in the abdomen and shoulder area. The victim wrestled with the defendant for the knife causing the defendant to get cut on the right knee."
