A 38-year-old man was arrested Wednesday, following a Sept. 8 hit-and-run crash in northwest Miami-Dade.
According to his arrest report, Yulizan Ochoa, of Miami, struck a man in a wheelchair with his vehicle around 5:40 p.m. Sept. 8 in the area of Northwest 186th Street and 68th Avenue, and then fled the scene.
Miami-Dade police said the victim had been trying to cross the street at the time and Ochoa never stopped to help after striking the victim.
The victim was transported to a hospital by Miami-Dade Fire Rescue. He suffered a left fractured hip and a broken left femur.
According to the arrest report, a witness took a photo of Ochoa's vehicle and license plate.
