Miami-Dade police have arrested a man who shot a 61-year-old woman during a road rage incident in southwest Miami-Dade, authorities confirmed Wednesday.
Authorities said 29-year-old Javiel Polo was riding a motorcycle, and the victim, driving a black Dodge van, was traveling east when an argument escalated shortly before 130 p.m. Tuesday near Kendall Drive and Southwest 137th Avenue.
Police said Polo approached the victim's vehicle, pulled out a gun and pointed it at the woman before briefly holstering it. According to an arrest report, both exited their vehicles and the argument continued.
Police said the dispute turned violent when Polo fired a single shot, striking the woman in the upper right leg.
Sky 10 was above the scene as Polo was being taken into custody.
