Police Clamp Down On Three Illegal Shebeens In Bloemspruit

Police in Bloemfontein, Free State, shut down three illegal shebeens yesterday following complaints from the local community about the negative effects these unlicensed establishments were having on the area.

According to a statement from the SAPS, authorities also seized 270,030 milliliters of alcohol from the illegal shebeens.

In a separate incident in Cape Town, residents have been urged to remain alert to suspicious activities after an illegal distillery was discovered in Du Noon. Law enforcement acted on a tip-off regarding the unlawful liquor production at an abandoned building.
