Upcoming Water Supply Disruptions November 2024

The Citys Water and Sanitation Directorate has announced planned maintenance work in various areas, which will result in temporary water supply disruptions. Affected residents and businesses are advised to take necessary precautions, including storing water in clean, sealed containers in advance. Below are the details of the scheduled disruptions

1. Blackheath Water Treatment Plant

   • Date Monday, 25 November 2024
   • Time 800 AM to 400 PM
   • Details No water supply disruptions in the Blackheath Water Treatment Plants supply areas, as the Blackheath Reservoir will be topped up in advance.

2. Wingerd Reservoir to Westridge Somerset West

   • Date Tuesday, 26 November 2024
   • Time 900 AM to 500 PM
   • Details Water supply will be disrupted. Affected residents and businesses are advised to store water in advance.

3. Roeland Street, Cape Town CBD De Villiers Street to Jutland Street, including Brandweer Street and Waterloo Street

   • Date Tuesday, 26 November 2024
   • Time 900 AM to 500 PM
   • Details Water supply will be affected during maintenance work.

4. Paarden Eiland Section Street and surrounding areas

   • Date Tuesday, 26 November 2024 and Thursday, 28 November 2024
   • Time 900 AM to 500 PM
   • Details Water supply will be shut off for maintenance on both days.

5. Strand Area

   • Date Wednesday, 27 November 2024
   • Time 800 AM to 500 PM
   • Details The entire Strand area will experience water supply disruptions. Affected residents and businesses should store enough water in advance.

6. Steenbras Water Treatment Plant

   • Date Wednesday, 27 November 2024 to Friday, 29 November 2024
   • Time 800 AM on Wednesday to 1000 PM on Friday
   • Details The plant will be shut off for maintenance, but water supply will be rerouted from other sources. Residents and businesses across the City are urged to reduce water consumption during this period.

7. Retreat bounded by 10th Avenue, Velma Road, Sasmeer Road, Leytonstone Road, Consort Road, and surrounding areas

   • Date Wednesday, 27 November 2024
   • Time 900 AM to 500 PM
   • Details Water supply will be shut off for maintenance in parts of this area.

8. Zero-Pressure Tests and Conditional Assessments

   • Tygerberg Office Park, Belvedere, De Tijger, and Avondale Areas
     • Date Tuesday, 26 November 2024
     • Time 1000 AM to 400 PM
   • Radloff Park, Golden Acre, Roundhay, Natures Valley, Morningside, Land En Zeezicht, Lionviham, and Parel Vallei Somerset West
     • Date Thursday, 28 November 2024
     • Time 1000 AM to 400 PM
   • Details Residents may experience low water pressure or no water at all during the testing period. It is recommended to store water as a precaution.

Residents in affected areas are advised to plan ahead for water usage during the disruptions.
