Pieter-steph Du Toit Leads Sa Rugby Awards Nominees After Another Stellar Year For Springboks
World Rugby's Men's Player of the Year, Pieter-Steph Du Toit, is among the five nominees for this year's SA Rugby Awards following another outstanding year in the green and gold.
The influential loose forward has been nominated alongside Damian de Allende, Eben Etzebeth, Ox Nche, and Cheslin Kolbe. All five players played crucial roles in helping the Springboks secure the Rugby Championship title and maintain their position as the worlds number one rugby team.
Du Toit, who was named World Rugbys Mens Player of the Year after the international season, edged out Etzebeth and Kolbe to win his second global award.
In the Young Player of the Year category, rising star Sacha Feinberg-Mngomezulu, who had a breakthrough year on the international stage, is nominated. He faces competition from Cameron Hanekom, Jordan Hendrikse, and Quan Horn, all of whom made their Test debuts in 2024.
For the Women's Player of the Year award, previous winners Aseza Hele, Libbie Janse van Rensburg, and Nadine Roos join Chumisa Qawe and Vainah Ubisi as nominees. These five women played key roles in helping the Springbok Women secure qualification for the 2025 Rugby World Cup in England.
