Pension Fund Act Breached In Over Four Northern Cape Municipalities
Over four municipalities in the Northern Cape are contravening Section 13A of the Pension Fund Act 24 of 1956 by withholding third-party payments to various municipal pension funds.
MEC of Finance, Economic Development and Tourism, Venus Blennies-Magage, last month warned implicated Chief Financial Officers and senior officials that they are breaking the law and must be ready to face the consequences.
Blennies-Magage warned that it is unethical and illegal, as it involves funds already deducted from employees.

There are those that have historic debt thats over five-years-old. Your !Kheis municipality, Kai !Garib municipality your Renosterberg municipality. But these are matters that we are tackling together with national, Blennies-Magage elaborates.
