Most parts of the City of Tshwane have been plunged into darkness.
This follows widespread power outages affecting large parts of the inner city and three regions of the metro.
City authorities are probing the trip incident at the Bellom Substation.
The outage has affected the Union Buildings, City Hospitals, businesses, Edmund Skinner and River substations.
City technicians have been dispatched to investigate and fix the damages.
