Park And Ride Service Launched For Soweto Derby: Times And Prices

Stadium Management South Africa SMSA has launched a park-and-ride service for the upcoming Soweto derby between Betway Premiership heavyweights Orlando Pirates and Kaizer Chiefs.

The highly anticipated match is scheduled for Saturday, 1 February 2025 at the FNB Stadium in Nasrec, Johannesburg. Kick-off is at 15h30.

Soweto Derby park-and-ride service

The service will enable soccer fans to park their vehicles at designated departure points, where they will then board buses to the stadium. After the match, the buses will make return trips from the stadium to the original departure points.

To further streamline the experience, the traffic and transport management plan for the derby includes dedicated bus lanes to and from the venue, ensuring minimal delays and maximum convenience, SMSA said.

SMSA has partnered with Park and Ride SA to implement the system following its success at the Chris Brown concerts held in December, also at FNB Stadium. An estimated 20,000 people used it on each concert day.

Revellers attending the Calabash Johannesburg concert at the stadium on 19 January will similarly use the service.
