Parents Urged To Vaccinate Children Due To Diphtheria Surge In C Town

The City of Cape Towns health department has called on parents to make their childrens vaccinations their priority.There are concerns over the recent surge in diphtheria cases.

Vaccination is one of the best methods of preventing illnesses such as polio, measles, and diphtheria .

Member of the Mayoral Committee for Community Services and Health Patricia Van der Ross says, Weve run a campaign for the last couple of days or last couple of weeks in the various areas because it stems from the Diphtheria virus that has broken out. We make sure because one of the main things is our kids need to be immunised. We needed to do vaccine runs and we started off in different communities and we doing really, really well.
