Ox Delivers Accelerates E-mobility Transformation In East Africa
UK-based e-mobility startup OX Delivers has secured a landmark 163 million agreement to revolutionize transportation infrastructure across East Africa. The strategic investment marks a significant milestone in the companys global expansion efforts.
The comprehensive partnership will establish OX East Africa, a new franchise targeting multiple countries in the region. Initially focusing on Rwanda, the initiative plans to extend operations to Uganda, Kenya, Tanzania, and Burundi in subsequent phases.
OX Delivers will introduce a fleet of all-electric trucks accompanied by advanced technology platforms and comprehensive maintenance services. The innovative approach aims to address critical transportation challenges faced by small-scale traders and agricultural entrepreneurs.
Since launching in Rwanda during 2021, the company has already supported over 5,000 clients, primarily smallholder farmers and local merchants. The service dramatically reduces transportation times, enabling traders to reach markets more efficiently and potentially increase their sales revenues.
Colin Tebbett, who will lead the new franchise, emphasized the transformative potential of the project. He highlighted the companys positive impact on local businesses and its commitment to economic empowerment in the region.
