Outa Urges President Ahead Of Sona To Focus On Reducing High Crime

The Organisation Undoing Tax Abuse Outa is calling on President Cyril Ramaphosa to outline decisive plans on combating crime when he delivers the State of the Nation Address SONA this evening.

Senior Research Manager at OUTA, Dr Rachel Fischer says crime has been increasing for years in the country.

"Outa is calling on President Cyril Ramaphosa to use the State of the Nation Address SONA 2025 to present real solutions to fight corruption and organised crime, not empty promises. For years corruption has spiraled out of control. Yet despite acknowledging it is a crisis, the government has failed to take decisive action. We need clear plans with deadlines with budget commitments to ensure law enforcement agencies have the expertise, technology and independence to tackle crime."
