osun sports council denies reports of power tussle between deputy gov commissioner

The management of the Osun State Sports Council has refuted reports of a power tussle between the Deputy Governor, Kola Adewusi and the Senior Special Assistant to the Governor on Sports Matters, Iyiola Babatunde.

Adewusi also doubles as the state Commissioner for Sports.

The council, led by the General Manager, Rotimi Dunmoye, in a statement by Funmilayo Moradeyo on Sunday, reacted to reports of a power tussle over control of the Sports Ministry.

The statement emphasised that there is no conflict regarding leadership within the Ministry, as the Deputy Governor has been effectively overseeing its operations with full authority as the substantive commissioner.

The statement reads, "There was never any contention over who controls the Sports Ministry. The Deputy Governor, Prince Kolawole Adewusi, has been driving the process, while the Governor's aides, including Hon. Babatunde, play complementary roles in advancing the Ministry's objectives," the statement read.
