Osun State Independent Electoral Commission, OSSIEC, has revealed that 18 registered political parties have submitted nominations to participate in the local government election in the state.
OSSIEC had fixed the local government election for Saturday, February 22, 2025.
The OSSIEC chairman, Hashim Abioye made this disclosure during the opening of a 3-day retreat in Osogbo on Thursday.
Abioye, while disclosing that this was the first time that all the 18 political parties would be partaking in the local government poll in the state, added that the commission had received nominations from the parties and was verifying the credentials of the received nominations.
He said, "I am glad to inform you that for the first time in the history of this commission, all 18 registered political parties in Osun State are participating and have all submitted nominations.
