Former Orlando Pirates player Bongani Ndulula has suggested that coach Jose Riveiro may have been the cause of the Buccaneer's inconsistent performances in the league in the past two seasons.
The Soweto giants have finished second in the league for the past two seasons, behind Mamelodi Sundowns , but have dominated domestic cup competitions.
However, this season they will be looking to finally clinch the league title.
Speaking to the podcast on YouTube, Ndulula said he could not understand why the Soweto giants thrived in cup competitions but struggled in the league.
My problem with Pirates is that they look like a team that is more geared towards cup competitions, and in the league they struggle and I dont know why, Ndulula said.
