CORVALLIS, Ore. Everett Hayes kicked a 55-yard field goal with 20 seconds left, securing Oregon State's 41-38 victory over No. 25 Washington State on Saturday night in a crucial Pac-12 matchup. This win ended the Beavers' five-game losing streak.
Ben Gulbranson, who missed last week's game, led the Beavers with 294 passing yards and two touchdowns. Trent Walker Jr. had an impressive performance, catching 12 passes for 136 yards.
Washington State, coming off a loss to New Mexico, saw their hopes for an at-large bid to the College Football Playoff dashed. The Cougars, once ranked as high as No. 18, have now lost two straight games.
