One Person Rescued From Collapsed Building In Lenasia

The City of Johannesburg Emergency Services has confirmed that only one person was extracted from the rubble of a collapsed building in Lenasia, south of Johannesburg, Tuesday night.

Initial reports suggested that a second person might have been trapped under the debris. However, Johannesburg EMS spokesperson Nana Radebe states that eyewitness accounts confirmed only one person was inside the building during the incident.

The rescued individual was taken to a nearby medical facility for treatment.

"The eyewitnesses have confirmed that only one person was in the building at the time of the incident," says Radebe.

The cause of the building collapse remains unknown, and investigations are ongoing. Search and rescue teams continue to monitor the scene to ensure no one else is trapped under the rubble.
