As Ogun residents prepare for Saturdays local government elections, the State Traffic Compliance and Enforcement Agency TRACE has pledged to ensure that safety protocols are observed and the restriction order regulating vehicular movement from 800 am to 200 pm is adhered to.
DAILY POST reports that the state has 18 major traffic corridors, spread across the three senatorial districts and 20 local government areas.
The TRACE Commander General, Seni Ogunyemi, in a statement signed by the agencys spokesperson, Babatunde Akinbiyi on Friday, said it is working in synergy with other security agencies to ensure orderliness during and after the election period.
According to Ogunyemi, they will also be on standby to respond quickly to emergency traffic issues, including crashes, obstacles, and vehicle breakdowns that could prevent election materials from reaching their destination.
Parts of the statement read, We would assist workflow and monitor the progress of election through different departments in tracking suspicious movement and provide adequate information to the relevant authority as witnessed in locations and on the roads.
