Nw Residents Advised To Focus On Exploring Other Avenues For Survival
The WesVaal Chamber of Business in Klerksdorp in the North West has advised local residents to focus on exploring other avenues for survival rather than illegal mining .
This comes after some residents called on government to make the formalisation of artisanal mining its priority.
Seventy-eight bodies of illegal miners have been retrieved from a disused mine in Stilfontein in the province.
Over 1500 other illegal miners have been brought to the surface and arrested.
The chambers president Kgotso Mmadi says there are many opportunities in various industries.
