The traditional leaders organisation, Contralesa, has lambasted the Minister in the Presidency Khumbudzo Ntshavheni for her utterances regarding the illegal miners that are trapped underground in Stilfontein mine in North West.
Last week, Ntshavheni said government will not offer any assistance to the illegal miners.
Contralesa President Kgosi Larmeck Mokoena says they are shocked by the ministers comments.
Contralesa is shocked and flabbergasted by utterances by Minister Ntshavheni who said her government wont even take step to rescue those illegal miners who are trapped at Stilfontein mine. These utterances are shocking coming from a minister of state. It was uncalled for and unnecessary. The minister is contradicting herself because there are many of these prisoners who have raped and killed our poeple but they are being taken care of at our prisons given food and even water. We are so grateful because the Minister of Police, contrary to what she said, he said he is going to have a process where many of those illegal miners will be removed from those mines and be processed accordingly. Contralesa is happy that at least there is a minister who is always sober in dealing with issues of national importance.
