Nsri Warns Anglers In Kzn As Spring Tide Peaks

The National Sea Rescue Institute NSRI in KwaZulu-Natal has advised anglers to be cautious as the new moon spring tide is peaking this weekend.

NSRI spokesperson Andrew Ingram says the high tide will cause strong currents in the afternoon.

Anglers are reminded to wear life jackets and carry flotation equipment, and boaters should use the NSRIs free SafeTrax application. Above all, remember that alcohol and water dont mix and that children should always be supervised when theyre in or near water.

Ingram adds: The effects of the spring tide will last for several days. So time your coastal activities with care and save the NSRIs emergency number 087-094-9774 in your mobile phone.
