Fulham FC player, Alex Iwobi, stands as the player with the most caps in the Super Eagles squad set to face Benin Republic in their upcoming Africa Cup of Nations 2025 qualifier, Soccernet.ng reports.
With 82 international appearances, Iwobi leads the squad in caps , surpassing the likes of William Troost-Ekong and Moses Simon, who follow closely with 74 each.
Nigeria is slated to tackle the Cheetahs of Benin today at the Felix Houphouet-Boigny Stadium, and the former Arsenal forwards appearances in the Super Eagles squad seem quite shocking.
Although Iwobi made his Super Eagles debut later in 2015, following his introduction by former head coach Sunday Oliseh, he has since surpassed both Troost-Ekong and Simon in appearances.
However, it can be said that the English-Nigerian player has more caps than every other player on the team to face Benin Squad.
