Norway Clubs Vote To Scrap Var

Norway is set to become the first country to scrap the use of Video Assistant Referee, VAR.

This is because 19 of its 32 clubs on Wednesday, voted to stop using the technology in the countrys top division.

It follows a four-month consultation involving clubs, players and supporters groups.

The outcome of the vote led to a recommendation that the Norwegian Football Federation, NFF, rubber-stamp the result.

The NFF is expected to make a final decision in March, although ESPN reports that the governing body could yet overrule the vote.
