Residents of Besisvlei, located near Lichtenburg in the Ditsobotla Local Municipality in North West, are expressing deep frustration over a prolonged water shortage that has lasted for two weeks. The community has been without water, and residents are forced to travel long distances to fetch water from neighboring areas.
The lack of communication from local authorities regarding the cause of the water shortage has added to their frustration. Many residents are concerned, especially the elderly, who are forced to endure long waits in the scorching heat to access water.
One resident emphasized the urgency of the situation, saying there has been no meeting or official communication to explain the cause of the water crisis. The community is calling for immediate assistance to address the water shortage in Besisvlei. The Ngaka Modiri Molema District Municipality has not yet responded to these concerns.
