NITDA Launches Digital Literacy Training for Federal Civil Servants
National Information Technology Development Agency NITDA, in partnership with the Office of the Head of the Civil Service of the Federation, has introduced a comprehensive Digital Literacy Training and Certification programme.
The three-day workshop, hosted at the e-Government Training Centre within the Public Service Institute of Nigeria PSIN, is designed to equip 69,000 federal civil servants with essential digital skills. Conducted weekly, the programme aims to cover the entire workforce within nine months, underscoring its ambitious scope.
During the launch, NITDA's Director General, Kashifu Inuwa Abdullahi, highlighted the initiatives alignment with the government's goal of achieving 70 digital literacy in Nigeria by 2027. This target, he noted, is a cornerstone of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu's Renewed Hope Agenda, which seeks to promote innovation, improve governance, and drive inclusive economic growth.
The critical role of digital literacy in fostering effective governance, innovation, and economic transformation cannot be overstated, Abdullahi said, reaffirming the government's commitment to building a digitally skilled workforce.
