Nigerian healthcare technology company MDaaS has launched operations in Cameroon, marking its first expansion into Francophone Africa. The diagnostic health tech startup seeks to replicate its successful Nigerian model in Cameroons growing healthcare market.
Founded in 2017 by Oluwasoga Oni and Opeyemi Ologun, MDaaS has established a strong presence in Nigeria. The company operates 16 diagnostic clinics serving over 16,000 patients. Their network extends across 26 states through strategic partnerships and affiliates. Patient trust remains evident through consistent advance test bookings.
Cameroons selection for expansion follows careful market analysis by MDaaS. The company identified significant gaps in diagnostic services efficiency during extensive tours of local facilities. Current centers often struggle with extended wait times for laboratory tests, mirroring challenges MDaaS previously solved in Nigeria.
The startups proven model delivers multiple tests with same-day results during single visits. This streamlined approach addresses a critical need in Cameroons healthcare sector. MDaaS aims to leverage Cameroons bilingual advantage and stable currency to diversify revenue streams while improving healthcare access.
Beyond diagnostic services, MDaaS operates Sinetel, a B2B platform specializing in preventive healthcare. The company secured 3 million in pre-series A funding earlier this year, initially targeting Nigerian market expansion. This funding now supports their Cameroonian venture.
