Nigerian Boxer Olanrewaju Dies Following Collapse During Ghana Bout

Nigerian boxer, Segun 'Success' Olanrewaju, a former National and West African light-heavyweight champion, has passed away after collapsing during a boxing match in Ghana on Saturday.

Olanrewaju lost consciousness while competing against Ghanaian boxer Jon Mbanugu at Fight Night 15 of the Ghana Professional Boxing League, which was held at the Bukom Boxing Arena .

Despite attempts to revive him, the 40-year-old was declared unresponsive and had been ahead on points before the tragic event occurred. A video circulating on social media captures the moment he fell in the ring.

Olanrewaju participated in 24 professional bouts, securing 13 victories, suffering eight losses, and recording three draws.
