Nigeria Set To Face South Africa After Gabon Fell Apart In 2025 Fifa U17 Women's World Cup Qualifiers
Nigeria's U17 women's national team, the Flamingos, are set to take on South Africa in the second round of the 2025 FIFA U17 Women's World Cup qualifiers after Gabon's disastrous outing in the first leg of their first round clash, .
The Flamingos, one of the teams to earn a bye in the first round as a result of their qualification for last year's tournament, awaited the winner of the tie between South Africa and Gabon.
That contest, however, turned chaotic when Gabon fielded an under-strength team, resulting in the abandonment of the match.
South Africa's first-leg visit to Gabon was cut short after a series of violations of FIFA regulations.
Gabon started the match with just 10 players due to the ineligibility of eight of their squad members, who were born outside the competition's required birth window of January 1, 2008, to December 31, 2010.
