Awoniyi joined Nottingham Forest in 2022 from Union Berlin on a five-year deal, for his second spell in England. The 26-year-old first arrived in the country in 2015 to join Liverpool after starring in Nigerias victorious U17 World Cup campaign with the Golden Eaglets.
