Nff Hires Eric Chelle As New Super Eagles Head Coach

The Nigeria Football Federation NFF has named Eric Chelle as the new head coach of the Super Eagles. The NFF announced the appointment of the Malian coach in a statement released on Tuesday.

The NFF technical and development sub-committee suggested the 47-year-old's appointment on January 2, and the federation's executive committee approved the recommendation shortly before the announcement.

Chelle previously served as Malis head coach during the African Cup of Nations AFCON held in Cote d'Ivoire, where he led the team to the quarter-finals before being eliminated by the host nation in extra time.

His coaching experience also includes managing clubs such as GS Consolat, FC Martigues, Boulogne, and MC Oran.

He represented the Malian senior men's national team five times as a player and played for teams like Martigues, Valenciennes, Lens, Istres, and Chamois Niortais in France.
