Newly Crowned Top Manager Ninety One Believes Global Reach, Specialist Approach Are Key To Success

Ninety One took home top honours at the inaugural FundHub industry awards this week for the exceptional performance of its funds across a broad range of categories.

The asset manager won the News24 Best Overall Fund Manager award, which judged investment managers who have funds across a minimum of five unit trust categories over longer periods. The sum of the investment performance across these five categories determined the winner.

Siobhan Simpson, Ninety One's head of SA unit trusts, says the group's global presence and multi-specialist approach have helped it stand out from its local peers.

'Our structure is akin to a collection of specialised boutiques within one firm, where each team adheres to its distinct investment philosophy and process.

'This ensures that our portfolio managers stay true to their strategies without being constrained by a single house view,' she said.
