South African National Parks SANParks has warned about a wildfire currently raging in the Newlands Forest area of Table Mountain National Park TMNP.
The blaze, which started in the densely forested region, presents significant challenges to firefighting teams due to the terrains inaccessibility and limited water resources, Cape town Etc reports.
Currently, 30 firefighters are working tirelessly on the scene, with another 30 firefighters from Volunteer Wildfire Services and Working on Fire en route to assist.
Despite the ongoing efforts, the fire continues to spread and suppression remains a complex task.
