Newcastle Striker Isak Targeted In Professional Burglary Raid

Newcastle United striker Alexander Isak was the victim of a professional burglary ring, a court heard on Wednesday. The attackers broke into his home in Northumberland last April, stealing jewellery and cash worth 68,000 , along with his Audi car.

The Sweden international was not home at the time of the raid, which occurred after Isak left between 4:00 pm and 10:00 pm. The burglars entered through a glass door and ransacked his TV room. In addition to the stolen goods, they took cash ranging from 5,000 to 10,000.

The court was told that the gang, which arrived in the UK from Calais, had also committed similar crimes, including stealing over 1 million worth of jewellery and 100,000 worth of designer goods in previous days. Three members of the family behind the burglary ring have admitted their involvement, while Valentino Nikolov, 32, denies the charges.

CCTV footage of the raid and the discovery of the abandoned car by a member of the public helped link the gang to the crime.

Isak, who has had an impressive season with Newcastle, scoring 22 goals, is unaffected by the incident, with his focus on the upcoming League Cup final against Liverpool on March 16.
