New Platform Makes Shipping Data More Dynamic
A new data platform is set to transform the way in which market information for the freight industry is accessed and understood.
Developed by Linernet, TradeSightsimplifies complex data, turning it into actionable insights that can be easily accessed through a single interface.
According to Claire Alberts of Linernet, TradeSight has been in development for some time, with the aim of making market data more meaningful and transparent.
'Our goal was to create a platform that not only simplifies the process of extracting insights from data but also delivers clarity and value to the industry.'
Offering insightful analytics derived from multiple data sources, the platforms customisable dashboards empower businesses to make smarter, data-driven decisions.
The platform is highly adaptable and can be tailored to meet the specific needs of any business, said Alberts.
Additionally, the data is centralised in one platform, ensuring maximum efficiency.
Whether you're looking for a quick snapshot of activity at various ports across the country or more in-depth insights, such as vessel calls, types of vessels and the cargo theyre carrying, the platform provides a comprehensive range of market databases.
Operational data from Transnet National Ports Authority and Transnet Port Terminals is also available on the platform. Users can access insights on a monthly or yearly basis and are able to compare various metrics over multiple years for a more comprehensive analysis.
Data from the South African Revenue Service, South African Reserve Bank and the Department of Mineral and Energy is also available on the platform.
Were continually enhancing the platform by adding more markets and data sets. While users can already analyse data effortlessly across various time ranges, categories and key metrics to uncover the most relevant insights, we also have plans to expand further, incorporating more markets and neighbouring countries for regional insights, Alberts added.
She said Tradesight enabled users to view broad trends or dive deeper into the data when necessary. 'Whether you're analysing high-level patterns or exploring specific details, the platform gives you the flexibility to drill down into the metrics that matter most. This allows businesses to make informed decisions at every level, from strategic overviews to granular, day-to-day operations.
