
New Online System In Place For Kaizer Chiefs Home Games To Combat Fake Tickets
Their imminent clash with Mamelodi Sundowns has been sold out it was confirmed on Tuesday, and Kaizer Chiefs have urged their fans to get their tickets for their following match against Magesi FC instead by using a more secure ticketing system.
While promoting their new online ticketing system which will be used on their website for their home games at FNB Stadium with immediate effect, Kaizer Chiefs corporate communications manager Vina Maphosa also confirmed that their Betway Premiership match against Sundowns on Saturday at Lucas Moripe Stadium had already been sold out.
Maphosa said the club had been working with Stadium Management SA on their online ticketing system, in order to provide a more secure facility for fans to purchase their tickets.
The new system has emerged after the most recent Soweto Derby was marred by thousands of fans entering FNB Stadium without a ticket.
Fake ticketsA reported figure of 100,000 fans attended the match between Chiefs and Orlando Pirates on February 1 at the stadium which only had 87,000 tickets sold.
