Nasreddine Nabi Explains Kaizer Chiefs Loss Vs Gallants As Winless Streak Continues

Kaizer Chiefs have slumped to a 2-1 loss against Marumo Gallants in the Betway Premiership - and coach Nasreddine Nabi says the team lacked good balance because key players were absent.
The match, which extended Amakhosis winless streak in the league to six matches, was played on Saturday 26 April at FNB Stadium in Soweto, Johannesburg. Their last win came in early March against Magesi.
Nabi on Kaizer Chiefs loss against GallantsGlody Lilepo scored Chiefs sole goal before Gallants turned the tables with strikes from Matome Mathiane and Daniel Msendami.
The defeat means that the Glamour Boys fall out of the top eight to ninth place on the Premier Soccer League PSL log with 30 points after 25 matches. Gallants also have 30 points but have played one more game.
Speaking to SuperSport TV after the game, Nabi his team lacked its usual leadership and a little bit of conviction in our actions, both defensively and offensively.
"Maybe it was because of the players who were absent, which didn't provide good balance to the team. We also had several players who were returning from injury, he added.
"We feel that this significantly affected the flow of our game. Additionally, we felt we weren't very strong mentally because we were missing a lot of simple opportunities.
Amakhosi had to play without their regular centre-backs Given Msimango and Rushwin Dortley, who are still recovering from injury. Additionally, Inacio Miguel was rested and started from the bench, while Gaston Sirino and Pule Mmodi were serving a one-match suspension each.
The backline was thus fairly unfamiliar with Bradley Cross, Zitha Kwinika, Dillon Solomons and Happy Mashiane.
Nabi said the team tried to rectify its lack of balance in the second half. We had an opportunity to score a second goal but missed it, he added.
