Namibians have expressed confidence in their new woman President, Netumbu Nandi-Ndaitwa. Nandi-Ndaitwah took the oath of office today in Windhoek.

Many current and former heads of State and government were in attendance.

Her inauguration was delayed by court challenges after opposition parties in Namibia rejected election results.

Former South African Deputy President, Dr Phumzile Mlambo-Ngcuka has commended the people of Namibia for electing a woman to the highest office in the land. She hopes the election of Nandi-Ndaitwah will encourage other countries to have faith in women to lead societies.
