Nambitha Ben-Mazwi on Empini Season 2In an interview with Showmaxs Zibuyile Dladla, Nambitha reveals that she battled with personal challenges, including injury, during S2 filming.
The final episode was a culmination of everything - my personal challenges, the injury I worked through and six months of back rehabilitation, she recalls.
Many of my stunts were performed through pain, teaching me resilience. That finale was incredibly emotional and cathartic, and I believe the audience will appreciate the full-circle moment.
The talented actress also describes the role as her most enriching so far, adding that it taught her valuable lessons both on and off screen.
I enjoyed setting the tone on set, fostering team building and developing leadership skills. We went through a lot as a cast and crew, which brought us closer, and I learned to lead from behind. It was a transformative experience.
Advice to NdoniAsked what advice she would give Ndoni in a parallel universe, Nambitha says, I'd tell her to heal her inner child and that what happened wasn't her fault. She should trust herself and hold onto her truth, regardless of others' opinions.
Ndoni has been gaslit her whole life, internalising trauma that shaped how she presents herself. I'd encourage her to be gentle with herself, to let go of defensiveness and to embrace healing without seeking external validation.
She praises her character for her passion, advocacy for her team and deep commitment to protecting others.
