Rio Ferdinand has revealed that his wife wanted to kill him after he took a phone call at 1 am with former Manchester United team-mate, Cristiano Ronaldo.
Back in the summer of 2021, Ronaldo found himself set to depart Serie A giants Juventus.
After three years in Italy, the five-time Ballon dOr winner was also linked with a stunning return to Manchester to join Pep Guardiolas team.
In the end, Ronaldo rejoined United, although he left again less than 18 months later following a fallout with manager Erik ten Hag - with CR7 released as a free agent.
Ferdinand, speaking on the Portuguese's YouTube channel, said: "We spoke on the phone when you were going to go and sign at Man United when you were negotiating to come back, and my wife wanted to kill me!
