The farm owner accused of kidnapping and assault of two suspected livestock thieves is expected to apply for bail in the Middleburg Magistrates Court in Mpumalanga.

The farmer and three employees were arrested almost three weeks ago after they allegedly assaulted suspects accused of stealing sheep from his farm.

Police have since found remains believed to be human remains burnt beyond recognition on the R575 road.

It is suspected that the remains are of the two people men accused of sheep thieves.

Last week, the matter was adjourned to today to allow the state to find a Malawian interpreter.
