Scores of mourners gathered at St. Huberts Catholic Church in Alexandra, north of Johannesburg, to bid farewell to renowned actor Sello Motloung.
This to offer support and condolences to the Motloung family. The actor died on Sunday last week after a short illness at the age of 54.
He had a distinguished career spanning more than 20 years in TV, film and theatre. He was best known for his leading role as Sajene Kokobela in a Sesotho telenovela Nna Sajene Kokobela on SABC 2 in 2001. He starred in multiple productions and the most recent, SABC3s The Estate.
The film and television industry has been left shattered after the passing of a number of illustrious actors and actresses recently. The grounds of St. Huberts Catholic Church in Alexandra were filled to capacity.
His remains have been laid to rest at the Westpark Cemetery in Johannesburg. Mourners in attendance have described the passing of Motloung as a huge loss to the film and television industry in South Africa.
