Motshekga Stresses Importance Of Sadc In Promoting Peace, Integration

The Minister of Defense and Military Veterans Angie Motshekga says the protests in Mozambique have negatively affected the Southern African Development Community SADC region. South Africa is also keeping a close eye on the situation in Mozambique.

This comes as the Southern African country recently sworn in FRELIMOs Daniel Chapo after months of protests.

The opposition leader Venancio Mondlane has also indicated hes willing to serve in the new administration - if President Daniel Chapo meets his conditions following the disputed elections

Motshekga says leaders should focus on what is good for the country.

Our countries are very fragile, our economies are very fragile. You just dont interfere so much on something for either political party or individuals, because the impact is bigger than the parties. Its bigger than individuals. But its really affecting the country and its neighbours. And I do hope that Mondlane and his people will know that Mozambique is bigger than them.
