Motsepe Re-elected Unopposed For Second Term As Caf President

South African billionaire businessman Patrice Motsepe has been re-elected unopposed for a second term as the President of the Confederation of African Football at the 14th CAF Extraordinary General Assembly in Cairo, Egypt.

Motsepe, who was elected for a first term in March of 2021, will now lead Africas football governing body for another term, which will end in 2029.

Under Motsepes presidency, African football has made great strides in global football, including having the number of African womens football teams competing in the FIFA Womens World Cup increase from two to four teams.

FIFA is also considering increasing the number of African football teams participating in mens FIFA World Cup tournaments from the current 5 to 9 or 10.

The Federation has also reported an increase in revenue with last years Africa Cup of Nations tournament said to have been watched by a staggering 180 nations.
