The construction work related to the roll-out of the MyCiTi bus service to Claremont is now progressing to the intersection of Stanhope and Imam Haron Roads. As from Tuesday, 29 April 2025, one lane on Imam Haron Road will be closed to traffic between the intersections with Stanhope Road and First Avenue for traffic travelling towards the M5.

Also, as from 14 May 2025, a full road closure will apply on Imam Haron Road in both directions between Cook and Markham Roads.

Residents and commuters are advised to anticipate delays and consider alternative routes where possible.

Stanhope Road connects Main Road M4 with Palmyra Road and Imam Haron Road. This is one of the most challenging sections to be affected as part of the roll-out of the second phase of the MyCiTi bus service to connect commuters from Mitchells Plain and Khayelitsha with Claremont and Wynberg.
