More Evidence Shows Accused 1 In Gauteng On Day Meyiwa Was Killed
Lead investigating officer Brigadier Bongani Gininda says banking transactions and cellphone evidence place accused number one in the Senzo Meyiwa case, Muzi Sibiya, in Gauteng in 2014.
Sibiya had previously claimed he was in KwaZulu-Natal when the Bafana Bafana captain was murdered.
Sibiya and four other accused are on trial at the High Court in Pretoria for the murder of Meyiwa who was shot and killed while at Kelly Khumalos parental home in Vosloorus, on Gautengs East Rand.
Brigadier Gininda has been testifying on evidence that allegedly links accused number 1 Muzi Sibiya to the murder.
Following his arrest in May 2020, Sibiya allegedly pointed out the murder scene in Vosloorus, which subsequently led to the confession statement. A confession that Sibiya claims he was assaulted and tortured into signing.
